Improving the prehospital identification and management of people with COVID 19 symptoms

Little is known about how COVID-19 patients present to ambulance services, what happens to them or how paramedics engage with this patient group. Using routinely recorded patient data and qualitative data we investigated the demographic and clinical characteristics of individuals who called the Scottish Ambulance Service with COVID-19 symptoms and those that were not considered to be potentially COVID-19 related but later tested positive.
