Kate joined the NMAHP Research Unit in Glasgow in October 2015 to undertake a PhD in the use of pessaries for pelvic organ prolapse. She gained a Diploma in Psychosexual Medicine in 2015. Kate worked clinically for 30 years as a physiotherapist, specialising in pelvic floor dysfunction for the last 20 years. She gained her Masters in Rehabilitation Counselling from Brunel University before moving to Scotland in 2001. A qualified Pilates instructor since 2005, Kate combined clinical work with running local classes for 10 years.
