Sara joined NMAHP Research Unit in October 2012 and began her PhD in complex health intervention research entitled ‘Developing effective interventions in healthcare: the case of optimisation prior to RCTs’ under the joint supervision of Professor Suzanne Hagen, Professor Cam Donaldson and Professor Mary Wells.
She has gained expertise in the methodology used to develop, evaluate and implement complex interventions. Her research interests relate to the exploration of existing research practices and the development of new socio-health services that extend beyond the boundaries of a single national health system. She holds a BSc(Hons) in Nursing (Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca – Italy) and an MSc in Nursing Science (Queen’s University Belfast – UK). Recently, she has worked as Associate Editor for an Italian Nursing journal, Professioni Infermieristiche, and as Associate Lecturer in Nursing for the Verona University. She profoundly enjoys discovering new places and cultures, which allow her to look at healthcare research from a multi-local perspective.
