Julie joined NMAHP RU in 2014. She is undertaking a PhD titled “Standardising Measures in Arm Rehabilitation Trials (SMART stroke outcome)” under the joint supervision of Dr. Myzoon Ali, Professor Frederike van Wijck and Dr. Alex Pollock. Her research interests include stroke rehabilitation, outcome measures in upper limb rehabilitation trials, and consensus methods. Prior to embarking on her PhD, she undertook a seconded role as a Research Assistant on the Arts for Creative Engagement in Stroke study. Julie completed her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 2004. She worked clinically as a Specialist Physiotherapist in Neurology and Musculoskeletal Outpatients from 2005 to 2014.
